Unorthodox Words Sneak Peek Pt. 4

Have you ever felt like everybody around is passing you up? Like the world is spinning and you are just sitting there watching everything move along without you. I was there. Everybody was getting their Master’s degree, buying their first house, having kids and so on and so on. And I was just laying in bed watching Netflix, confused. I did not know why things kept happening to set me back and make me feel like I could never truly be happy. Like I would never arrive. But…

It is just a SEASON.

Everything has a cycle. There will always be life and death. Although we do not like death, it is inevitable. I started seeing death as not permanent though. And that is what gave me the most hope. That my broken season, my withering season, my winter was just a door to my new beginning. A new journey into rebirth. Yes, this season is SUPER uncomfortable. There is grief, hopelessness, sadness, and sometimes even depression. But since our perception is our reality. We can either see this season as the end of the world, or see it as a growing tool to build us into the best version of ourselves. No successful person had it easy. Every one has a winter season, or many winter seasons. It is the resilience that pushes us through. We can not give up even when we feel like we are not growing. And never compare your season to somebody’s else. All of our souls have different time zones. Someone else the same age as you can be winning right now. They have everything you want and more.

SUPPORT THEM.

Celebrate them, encourage them, clap for them from a distance. Just because somebody hit their spring season and is blooming beautifully, that does not take away from your blooming season. You just have not got there yet, and that is okay. Comparisons are fueled by social media. We are so worried about everybody else’s growth and downfalls, that we spend less time understanding our own. Your journey is as important and does not need parallel or mimic anybody else’s.

Be proud of your progress.

Have compassion for yourself in the winter season.

It is only temporary.
