Love What Makes You Different.
TRENDY TUESDAZE
We live in such a diverse and complex world, yet everyone is so judgmental and worried about what the next person is doing. Doesn’t make sense right? None of us make sense. AND THAT IS OKAY!
Today is the last day of Pride month and I want to scream from the rooftops how proud I am to be gay, black and magical. People see me, and I don’t make sense to a lot of them, and that makes me happy now. But I have not always screamed from the rooftops, and I have not always been happy to see people’s face scrunch up when I walk by them.
So today I will give you some advice that I constantly have to give myself to find the confidence and bravery to be fully me at all times.
#1
Smile at the haters.
They are the most insecure. Jealousy and envy come from a place of lack. A confident person only celebrates or ignores others, never hates on nor demeans others. So let em hate and don’t let their lack of confidence steal your joy.
#2
Stand firm in what you believe in.
Not everybody will have your belief or value system. Not everybody will agree with you. Stop switching what you believe in based off of someone else’s discomfort towards your beliefs. They are YOUR beliefs, and that is what matters most.
#3
Stop hiding.
It is easy to stay in the closet and dodge the pain of being judged, rejected, or misunderstood…right? NO!!! It is more painful to hide, to live a double life, and to carry a truth that you never reveal to the world. This goes way past the lgtbqia+ community, this is for everyone.
No, but forreal.
STOP HIDING!
Yes I just yelled at you, because I care.
You deserve to be FULLY you.
Let your authentic self shine through so you can have the peace you have been craving. That fear you have of being misunderstood can be released by accepting that not everyone will understand you.
#4
Create your own box.
Instead of trying to fit in to society so much, try to see what else you can bring to society. Some of us have spent so much time trying to be “normal” or liked that we lost who we truly were. If you feel like you don’t fit in any boxes, it is because you don’t. It is time to create your own box. Create your own lane. Stop jumping in already created boxes, those aren’t for you. No more trying to fit into the culture, you will now ADD to the culture.
#5
Love the parts of you that others have not.
Many of our insecurities come from trauma, childhood bullying, negative feedback, social media comparisons, and the list goes on. So much of how we feel about ourselves came from external sources. But how do you feel internally? Do you love your lisp? Do you love your skin? Do you love your creative ideas? Do you love you?
THAT IS WHAT MATTERS!
Reprogram all those voices in your head that told you that the true you wasn’t amazing.
Because it is.
Because you are!
But you have to believe it.
No more believing what other people say, only what YOU say.
PEACE & LOVE MY GULLIES.
stay safe & keep trying to change the world.
Black Lives STILL AND ALWAYS Matter by the way.
