Portal to Success.

If somebody said there was a way better Universe would you go? If they sent you an invitation to ride on the shuttle and start a new life elsewhere, would you? Would you believe them when they said it was better? Or would you need proof from people that already flew there and came back?

I was sitting waiting on food and saw this picture on the wall and was so intrigued by it. If that black hole was a real portal, would I go in? I for sure would! Maybe it’s just my curious personality that loves anything new and interesting. The point of this blog is to push the idea that there actually is a way to go to another universe figuratively. It’s called transformation, rebirth and gaining a higher consciousness. A new life that feels like a totally different universe consists of; a different mindset, different habits, different culture, different hobbies, different relationships, and a totally different belief system. This new universe offers abundance in everything. Spiritually, mentally, financially and physically. But what if I told you to go through that portal is a wee bit painful. Just temporary pain though. Nothing too crucial. Nothing that will kill you.

To have a new life, the life you fantasize and dream of, is possible. But that life does not come by just dreaming. The rearrangement of thinking patterns isn’t the easiest. I have to take my negative thoughts off of my top shelf, and replace them with positive affirming thoughts. Instead of procrastination and laziness, I replace them with motivation and creativity. But, how do I stop being lazy if laziness is the reason why I haven’t pursued my dreams yet?

“Sluggards do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing.”

Proverbs 20:4

Your favorite thing to dream of is a life of luxury, but you have work ethic of a slacker. You want to achieve great things, but you stay an underachiever.

dream. DO. manifest.

So what ways can we combat those hindrances so we can go through that portal and have a new life? I can only speak for myself, but my greatest hindrance is procrastination. I use to think it was a strength until I graduated college. Finishing papers 3 hours before it was due was the easiest way for me, well, I thought I was just that good. Ha! Then life hit me.

I saw on Pinterest, my fave of course, 8 causes of procrastination. Reading these made perfect sense and I think more of us deal with this then we like to admit. If we all could just procrastinate a little bit less, we might achieve some great things that we have been holding off on for years. So let me break them down for you.

The things stopping you from entering your new portal of FABULOUSNESS...

  1. Perfectionism - there will never be enough talent and greatness in you that will make you perfect. Accept the fact that your unrealistic standards and expectations will keep you from starting whatever you need start. Do not lower your goals. Dream big. But allow the flaws and “failures” to be apart of the journey. You are not perfect. And that’s okay. Just start already and see where it goes without you trying to fix everything before it even pops off.
  2. Fear of the unknown - I think this is the biggest road block for a lot of people. We do not trust in ourselves or in our God enough. The other side of the portal is too scary because there isn’t enough information about it. I challenge you to do something today that you have been afraid of. The unknown is where the light is. The unknown is the place to be. If you remain scared of it, you will never arrive.
  3. “I’ll do it later” syndrome - Just do it now. That later will become never. And that never will turn into regret. So just do it now.
  4. Small task worker - This is for people that do not like big projects or sway towards the easier tasks. Easy never pays off though. That small task might get done quicker but so will your disappointment in yourself. You start to realize all those small tasks could’ve equaled the biggest task that needs to be tended to, your purpose.
  5. Lack of motivation - This has been a struggle for me for many years and I didn’t know why. Now I do. I have been working in a field that I wasn’t passionate about for so long I forgot what it meant to value my work. If I am constantly putting energy into something I don’t like when will I ever have time to put in energy into something I do like? To be motivated again, find something you LOVE and just focus on that one thing for a while.
  6. Unclear how to get started - I am big on writing things down. I like to check things off my to do list because it gives me a clear visual of my productivity. It’s easy to get overwhelmed, especially if you’re not very knowledgeable about something. If you don’t know it, google it. We live in a society full of knowledge because of technology. There are so many how to articles and worksheets and guides that can help you get closer to your goals. Utilize it!
  7. Distracted often - For my people who have a short attention span, like me, this is a struggle. I have an idea and I start working towards it but then three other ideas come up, and then I want to go to fridge to get a snack, and now I already forgot all of my ideas so I say forget it and end up listening to music. It’s very tempting to hop from one task to the next and never completing the first task. Try to slow down. Try to be in the moment more. Just try to focus.
  8. Requires effort and hard work - I was born in the 90s so I call that the microwave mindset generation. We don’t like things that require too much effort and hard work. We want things now. Like in 30 seconds. We do not want to prepare a whole meal that takes 2 hrs. We demand certain things, but we don’t want to work for them. But clearly, being successful at anything requires hard work. The longer I have this microwave mindset, the longer my purpose will suffer from this processed food.

Don’t you want a new life? Don’t you want success? Not just to be rich, but at peace everyday?

Walk into the portal with me. Drop all unhealthy habits. Drop all negative mindsets. Drop all toxic relationships. It’s time for a new wave. The gully wave. The wave to freedom.

You don’t have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step.
